Hey all I was wondering if anyone could help me out in finding Beta key giveaways and such. I've been in the beta since the invitational, but when I signed up I only had access on a Mac and as of this moment a Mac beta is nowhere in sight. I finally got bootcamp working just yesterday only to find out I can't change my beta profile to show windows capability so I'm still kinda stuck.
I'm not begging for a key or nothing, just looking for a little direction to get one myself . Thanks in advance.
One thing you can do is join playdota.com Then you join the beta key drawn that is everyday. After that you post about 50 posts, but please don't spam. Make good posts. Then your probability for winning a key will be bigger..
I'm also playing on a mac via boot camp so if you got more questions you can ask me.
Oh cool then I guess I do have a question. I don't have the Mac OS disc on me (At parents house for a few days while on break) so does that mean I can't install the drivers? I tried searching online, but nothing seemed to work.
I didn't use the drivers from apple at all. Since I had a x64 windows 7 and my mac was a x32 it didn't fit somehow. So I downloaded everything from internet. I didn't choose very wisely. Just a Nvidea driver because I had a Nvidea card and so on. And I didn't fix the apple mouse wireless thing, my dad actually did. I didn't care about it. But I guess that is should be pretty easy to fix.
Can you post the link where you got your driver? I used the Nvidea site to download their driver for a GeForce 9600M GT, but it didn't work. http://www.pcpitstop.com/drivers/downlo ... 0M~GT.html Doesn't seem to have a download for windows 7
I have 64 bit windows not that I know what that means.
Well, actually now that I think about it I don't remember if it worked by using the Nvidea drivers. Hmmm. Was a time since I did this. It may be so that it did install everything by itself. Have you downloaded steam and everything? Because I remember that my computer had to install a lot of different drivers after I first installed dota 2. Hmm, this is a hard task.
I originally only partitioned 50gb to my windows partition so I re did it with 250gb and have yet to put Steam on it again. From what I read it seems like all I have to do is run the OS disc in windows and it will prompt me through. I hope that is the case cause it can't even run solitaire and there is no sound driver so I can't even use it when I watch streams.
